About GEM Energy Australia
GEM Energy Australia is a solar installation company based in Pinkenba. GEM Energy is an energy efficiency and renewable energy services provider founded in Emerald, Queensland, in 2013, now with offices across Australia including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Gympie, Sydney, Logan, Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, Cairns, Ipswich, Redlands, Toowoomba, Townsville, Bundaberg and Rockhampton. The company provides integrated turn-key solar energy solutions for organisations and households. In 2016 it installed what it describes as the first Tesla Powerpack battery system in an Australian school — which it says cut the boarding school's power bills by 70% — and went on to roll out solar PV and battery systems for schools across Queensland; in the same year it was recognised by the Clean Energy Council in the 100kW+ and Battery Back-Up categories. Its clients include organisations such as Australia Zoo, PCYC QLD, Catholic Education Central QLD, Industria REIT and Independent Pub Group. For households, GEM Energy offers a 'Pay-As-You-Save' approach under which customers' weekly repayments are intended to be lower than their energy costs, with the system owned outright after a couple of years.
