About Design Ecology
Design Ecology is a solar installation company based in Heathfield, SA. Based in Stirling, was formed in 2008 by environmentalist Geoff Lobban, who remains Managing Director. Lobban holds a degree in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Adelaide and solar accreditation from the Clean Energy Council, and has also studied architecture. The company designs, supplies and installs solar energy systems and storage solutions for business and domestic use, and provides energy management and efficiency advice. It follows a three-step custom design process: first assessing the customer's power-usage requirements (including not just how much power is used but when, along with future needs and efficiency opportunities) and modelling the system's financial performance such as payback period and return on investment; second, assessing the installation location, including shade analysis, aspect, orientation and aesthetics; and third, designing the electrical layout and selecting an inverter suited to the system. The company states that it does not use high-pressure sales techniques.
